Requirments

  • Master's in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • Proven hotel accounting experience - minimum 3 years in a financial role within a 4- or 5-star hotel

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.

  • Knowledge of Opera PMS essential and critical - Prolific added advantage.

  • Strong computer literacy with advanced MS Excel skills

  • In-depth knowledge of financial controls and risk management.

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with a knack for building relationships.

  • High level of attention to detail, organizational skills and deadline orientation.

  • A passion for hospitality and a commitment to excellence.


Key Responsibilities

  • Accounts Payable & Receivable Management: Oversee the full cycle of accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments, collections, and accurate maintenance of creditor and debtor accounts. Proactively follow up on outstanding balances to optimize cash flow.

  • Financial Transaction Recording & Reconciliation: Accurately record, classify, and reconcile all financial transactions in compliance with IFRS/USALI and company accounting policies. Maintain daily cash book entries and ensure alignment with bank statements.

  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare comprehensive financial reports including balance sheets, profit & loss statements, cash flow statements, and monthly management accounts. Conduct variance analysis against budgets to identify cost-saving opportunities and enhance operational efficiency.

  • Budgeting, Forecasting & Cash Flow Management: Assist in developing budgets and forecasts while monitoring actual performance to support strategic financial planning. Provide insightful financial analysis to guide hotel management decisions.

  • Compliance & Risk Mitigation: Ensure strict adherence to statutory requirements by preparing and submitting VAT, tax returns, and other regulatory filings accurately and punctually. Implement full-bodied internal controls to mitigate financial risks.

  • Audit Coordination: Facilitate smooth monthly and annual audits by collaborating closely with external auditors; review all balance sheet accounts to maintain accuracy and integrity.

  • Payroll & Staff Supervision: Manage payroll processing alongside accounts payable/receivable functions. Lead the accounting team by providing training, guidance, and fostering continuous professional development to uphold high standards within the finance function.

  • Stay updated on industry trends and regulations to ensure the hotel remains competitive and compliant.
